This self published project depicts my experience as an involuntary patient in a Psychiatric Hospital. The book includes poems, stories and journal entries written during my admittance. This is both an acknowledgement and validation of not only my own experience, but that of countless others as well. My hope is that small book will be the beginning of the difficult and necessary conversations that must be had in the field of mental health.

Just saw you on Anthony Padilla’s series. That poem was SO powerful. I have a love for great poets, so when I saw your site at the end of his show I knew I had to check you out! I am excited to receive this book and read it 🙂 Im so sorry that you had to be sent to a psych ward. We should be able to choose if we are admitted or not, and Im sorry that it was such an intense experience. Thank you so much for sharing that experience though…people need to know. I have also shared part of my story on youtube through “SOSNS” SOS Nova Scotia. We need more help here and as a Mental Health First Aider I aim to try to help people.
